FKFS is a link in between both research & development studies and customer projects. FKFS was established in 1930 as a non-profit foundation and cooperates closely with the University of Stuttgart’s Institute of Combustion Engines and Automotive Engineering. Various test facilities and vehicles are operated by FKFS, such as a full-scale and a model-scale wind tunnel, a powertrain test bench for hybrid electric and conventional vehicles, and numerous engine test stands. Additionally, our 180 employees offer support in testing and simulation of powertrain concepts including hybrid and battery electric vehicles, thermodynamics, automotive mechatronics and electronic systems, aerodynamics, NVH, driving dynamics.
